Heterocyclic amines are formed when meat is cooked or processed in a way that breaks down muscle tissue, fat, and protein. Both nitrates and heterocyclic amines have been found to promote prostate cancer.

2. Fatty fast foods

Fatty fast foods and other deep-fried foods may contain trans and saturated fats. These foods are thought to promote prostate cancer by increasing estrogen levels in the body, which is an initial risk factor for prostate cancer. Fatty foods also contain high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are cancer-causing toxins that build up in the body over time.

3. Alcohol

Studies have also found that men who drink one or two alcoholic beverages a day have a higher risk of developing advanced prostate cancer than those who drink less. Alcohol heightens the risk of prostate cancer development by reducing testosterone production. In addition, these drinks may also cause increased estrogen levels in the body, which is thought to promote prostate cancer.

4. Red meat

According to a study published in 2014 in the journal “Prostate”, there was an association between high consumption of red meat and increased risk of advanced prostate cancer. However, when cooked well and cut into small pieces, red meat may not be as hazardous as the long-term consumption of high-fat processed meats, such as bacon, ham, sausages, salami, pepperoni, and pastrami.

5. High fat dairy

Milk and dairy products are good sources of protein and calcium. However, a diet high in fat from dairy products may increase the risk of prostate cancer. Butter and cheese are high in saturated fats and trans fats, which makes them more likely to promote prostate cancer, especially when eaten in large quantities.

Prostate cancer is a serious disease that can be fatal if diagnosed in the late stages. However, with the right lifestyle and diet choices, a person can minimize his risk of prostate cancer. The best prostate cancer foods are generally plant-based and rich in fiber, antioxidants, and micronutrients that support the body and prevent disease.

It is also important to recognize the signs of prostate cancer, which include hot flashes and night sweats, constipation, pain and/or discomfort in the lower part of the rectum, urinary problems, and swollen glands.
